Some of the ideas my wife comes up with are crazy and impractical and I have to stand my ground with a very firm “No,” but this particular project immediately caught my imagination and I could see exactly the vision my wife had in mind. Professions and businesses working together on a project and, at the same time, giving something back to the community sounded like a great idea. Giving someone a life changing experience sounded like a great idea. Raising the profile of the North East Region sounded like a great idea.
I am not an ideas sort of person, but I am really happy to be involved in such a great project. I come into contact with many patients and listen to concerns about the appearance of their teeth on a daily basis and the great satisfaction I get from my work is being able to help. I can’t express the emotions I feel seeing a patient break down in tears of joy at the end of their treatment when they see their new smile for the first time or receiving gratitude from a patient who has had a denture replaced with dental implants and they can taste their food or talk with confidence again – it is a very rewarding part of my work.
I am fortunate to do a job I enjoy and I look forward to helping someone who has perhaps been less fortunate in their life.
