A busy schedule

I have had a second course of laser treatment to my face and I can see a noticeable difference. With further treatment planned I am sure I will have an amazing complexion. I have a marathon of dental treatment over the next few weeks with weekly appointments - I can’t wait to get rid of my mercury fillings and have them replaced with white ones. With any dental treatment I am always very anxious but I am sure Mike will put me at ease.

I haven’t stopped smiling all day

Since my last blog I have progressed with both Cosmetic and Dental Treatment. Last week I had my first round of laser treatment to my face and I have further laser treatment planned over the next few weeks. I can begin to see changes in my complexion already. Today I have had what I consider to be the best part of the dental treatment – Tooth Whitening. O M G my teeth are amazing and ten shades lighter than when I first walked in to the surgery. Needles to say, I haven’t stopped smiling all day!

Fitter and a dress size less!

I am continuing to work with Gavin my Personal Trainer at Thornaby Pavillion – these personal training sessions were part of my prize and were donated by Tees Active.
Although I had a slow start because of my knee replacement, I now feel things are taking off and I attend the gym each week as well as swimming twice each week.
I feel I am becoming healthier and fitter as I have increased the number of lengths I can do.
Although I have lost some weight and decreased a dress size, I still have a long way to go and for the months ahead I aim to focus on my diet and fitness. Sometimes I can find it very difficult to fit everything in around my caring responsibilities but I am determined to take full advantage of the kindness shown to me by Tees Active.

Mike Heads is making me smile

My dental treatment is really progressing at a rapid pace. After eye watering injections in my mouth (the most painful part of the procedure), my dental implants were put in place. I was really worried about the prospect of being toothless whilst my implants healed and my permanent teeth were fitted. I need not have worried because Mike works brilliantly and he fitted my temporary teeth immediately. Although my teeth are only temporary, I am amazed at the difference they have made and I would happily keep the temporary ones forever.
I still have a lot more dental work outstanding, including tooth whitening, so I can’t wait to see the end result.
I can’t thank Mike enough for the work he has done – it has already given me the confidence to smile.

Cosmetic Surgery going well

Nearly two months ago, I had scar reduction surgery to my face. I chose not to have general anaesthetic due to problems I had personally experienced with general anaesthetic in the past. The injections in my face were the most painful part of the procedure, the procedure itself was fine and afterwards I was left with soreness and some pain. The surgery to my mouth was deeper than anticipated and every time I tried to talk for the first few hours it would bleed, but you can’t keep me quiet for that long.

I am now approaching the two month mark post surgery to my face.
It has really knitted together well and there is only a faint red line remaining.
The biggest difference to my face has to be at the side of my face where Paul Baguley did a wonderful job flattening the skin graft to the left hand side of my nose and I’m sure as time goes by it will continue to blend in better with my cheek and nose. I already feel a lot more confident about myself because of this.
I really appreciate all of Paul’s help with my scar reduction as it has already made a massive impact to how I feel about myself.

Scar reduction surgery to my face

I was really nervous when I went to BBC Radio Tees Studio’s last Tuesday. I need not have worried though because Donna and the Presenter were very easy to talk to.

The 23rd November was my most painful day of the transformation so far as I had my Scar reduction surgery to my face carried out by Paul Baguley. I am still quite bruised and swollen and it hurts to sneeze and laugh. I have noticed an instant change with the skin graft at the side of my nose it is already quite flat. I am looking forward to seeing my face once the swelling has gone down.

I am really relieved that the main part of my dental work ( The Implants ) is over although I still need some mini implants in December. In a couple of weeks I have my facial Scar Reduction treatment -that gives me something else to worry about. I know it will take a little time for the swelling to go down but I am really eager to see the results as I know it will make a huge difference to me. As I have struggled at the gym following my knee replacement, I have now started swimming twice a week in addition to exercise at the gym. I am already starting to feel the difference. Finally I received a telephone call today from Donna at BBC Tees to invite me to BBC Tees Studio’s next Tuesday morning 15 th November at 11 05 am. Listen out for me!

Treatment is imminent

Next week is a big week for the Dental part of my makeover. I have my implant treatment on Monday and regular dental treatment right through until early next year. I am feeling rather nervous about the implants as they are the most intensive part of my dental work but I know I am in safe hands with Mike Heads.

I also have a date in November for my scar reducing on my face with Paul Baguley. I think the dental treatment and surgery to my face are going to make a huge difference to my self-confidence so it’s getting exiting.

Today I have an appointment with Gary Walsh the Photographer to have a few pics taken to help compare before and after my makeover.

Full steam ahead for the makeover

It’s full steam ahead for my makeover as the appointments come thick and fast. I had an appointment with Paul Baguely a couple of weeks ago in which we discussed the surgery to my face. I know this will make a huge difference to me, physically and emotionally. It’s likely that surgery will begin in a few months. Paul is absolutely lovely and has a professional and friendly manner which always put me at ease and reduces my anxieties, so I feel more comfortable than ever about the surgery ahead. I have had two further appointments with Mike Heads the last being today which I had preparation work so the dental treatment is well under way. I used the opportunity of attending my dental appointment today to also catch up with Linda Heads. It’s always great t catch up and have a chat with her. I am hoping it’s not long before I start back at the gym. I am just waiting for the go ahead from the Physiotherapist. On a final note, part of Dream Image also includes a Hair Makeover and to give the stylists at Hooker and Young more scope I have been asked to let my hair grow. I can honestly say my hair has never been this long for about 20 years!! I can even get it in a ponytail now.

Yippppeeee! Phyllis is finally on the move

It’s 8 wks after my Knee replacement and I am finally mobile! Yippppeeee! One of my first outings was last week to Woburn Safari Park with the family.We had a fantastic time the highlight being the monkeys dancing on the roof of the car while the children squealed with delight. Albeit one cheeky monkey took great pleasure in biting through the Ariel. Things are also progressing with my makeover as I have a further appointment with Paul Bagely next weekend also my Dental work with Mike Heads soon after that.
